Winter season is upon us and things are getting chilly up in here. Dressing yourself during this time of year can sometimes prove to be a tough feat when you're trying to stay warm and look cute at the same time. But don't fret, cause I gotchu. Here's a list of my winter weather fashion essentials and pics of some examples that will keep you toasty AND chic.

1. WATER RESISTANT BOOTS - When the rain and snow start falling, chucks or suede booties just won't do. A pair of boots that can hold up against wet conditions will save your little toes from getting soaked and frostbitten. It's a huge plus if they have grip and traction to avoid falling when walking on slippery surfaces. (Boots are from Urban Outfitters.)

2. INSULATED JACKETS - Insulated jackets are so, so important for when you're going to be outdoors any longer than a few minutes. I can't tell you how many times I've worn the wrong jacket out at night. No insulation. So regret. Much nippy. (Jacket is from Nordstrom.)

3. TURTLENECK SWEATERS - The turtleneck is a classic silhouette that works especially well in the winter, as it provides the upper body with lots of warmth and protection. The usually exposed neck and throat area is covered when you sport one of these babies. If you don't like how some winter scarves can be kind of heavy and bulky, a turtleneck sweater could be right for you. (Turtleneck sweater is from American Apparel.)

4. THICK SCARVES - Protect ya neck! (And everything else.) Scarves are so versatile because you can wear them in a ton of different ways. Whether your neck, head, shoulders, or etcetera are freezing, your scarf has literally got you covered. (Scarf is from H&M)

5. SOCKS, HATS, AND GLOVES - These three cold weather accessories are a must for me in the winter because my ears, hands, and feet are where I personally get cold easily. I also think that they're such a fun, inexpensive way to add different patterns or a pop of color to your winter fit. (Socks were a gift. Beanie and gloves are from Urban Outfitters.)

Stay warm, guys! Hope you're all having a gnarly holiday season! :-)

Ugly Christmas sweaters are a classic during the jolly season, as they're an awesome way to show off your holiday spirit. With the endless possibilities, it's really fun to see how different people transform their old sweaters. This year, Winnie and I decided to take a shot at making our own. So, after some brainstorming and a trip to the craft store, we got down to business.

Materials I used:
- Old sweater
- Felt
- Craft foam sheets
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
- Metallic beads
- String
- Markers
- Scissors

Ugly Christmas sweaters are often silly and humorous, and I wanted mine to be just that. I decided to take a typical snowman and give him a little makeover. I adorned him with the traditional top hat, carrot nose, and buttons. But I also pimped him out with a pipe, a chain, and a boom box.

It was our first time DIY-ing our own ugly Christmas sweaters, and it's safe to say that we were very happy with how they turned out. (Though, I don't think ugly is an appropriate adjective to describe them. Come on. Just look at Santa Vader and Gang$ta Snowman.)

As I get older, there are some things I feel like I should be getting better at. Like doing my taxes right, scheduling my own appointments, dealing with car problems, etc. You know. Adult things. The one thing I really want to master though? Cooking and baking. (Yeah, I know. Technically, those are two things. But I feel like they go together.) The best way I can describe it is like... I want my kitchen skills to be on Pinterest mom level. You feel me?

With Christmas approaching, I thought I'd give the whole baking from scratch thing a shot and crank out some holiday cookies of my own. It seemed easy enough. (Key word: seemed) So I looked up a recipe and made it happen. As you can probably tell by the pictures, they didn't fare too well in the looks department, haha. I forgot that the cookies were going to get bigger and expand once I put them in the oven. I really should have made each one a lot smaller and thinner. Luckily, they still tasted good. And cookies are cookies. Am I right?

So I'm nowhere near Pinterest mom level yet and my cookies looked pretty funky this time. I made a few mistakes. But I think it's all about trial and error. I'll get there one day. :-) I'm happy to report that my tastebuds and I are still pretty stoked about the results.

If you wanted to try making these candy cane sugar cookies, I've included the link to the recipe below. You should be able to make two dozen cookies with it. I personally cut the given recipe in half and made a dozen cookies. (Maybe that was a contributing factor to why my cookies looked a little funny?) I baked three cookies per tray and used multiple trays because I made them pretty large. I just didn't take a picture of all the cookies together.

Outfit details:
Shirt - Urban Outfitters
Shorts - Guess
Flannel - Urban Outfitters
Tights - Urban Outfitters
Boots - Steve Madden

The t-shirt is one of the most versatile items in our closets. It can accommodate whatever look you're setting out to achieve, whether you're trying to go lazy, dressy, casual, etc. Think of all the t-shirts you have ever owned. Which is your favorite? Why is it so special to you?

My favorite t-shirt is featured in the pictures above. There really isn't a magical or deep story behind it. I got it a few years back when I used to work for Urban Outfitters. I remember having to have this shirt (or else...) when I saw that our store had gotten them in stock.

Besides being sick af, this t-shirt is my favorite for a few other reasons. One, it's super easy to style and is one of my go-to items when I don't know what to wear. Two, I've had it for so long that I've broken it in and it's crazy comfortable. Three, the shirt's text speaks volumes about really big parts of who I am in a very simple way. (In more basic terms - it's hella me.)

Of all the t-shirts you have ever owned, which one is your favorite? I'd love to know why.

It's the perfect opportunity to take a breather. Finals are over, the holiday break is here, and now you've got what seems like all the time in the world to just chill out. What better way is there to spend it than to mindlessly watch episodes on episodes of television? So sit tight and avoid society, the chilly weather, and all of the important adult things you usually aren't allowed to ignore. Grab your laptop, some snacks, and a cozy blanket. 1. NIKE FLYKNIT RACERS - I went back and forth on whether or not to purchase these for a long time. For some reason, it was hard for me to justify spending $150 on a pair of running shoes. (Idk. Maybe because your girl doesn't run???) But now that I have them, I'm so glad I pulled the trigger. This pair of shoes offers the best of both worlds, as I wear them both to the gym and casually. Also, they're seriously the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

2. MORPHE 35O EYESHADOW PALETTE - It was love at first sight when I laid my eyes on this palette. So many gorgeous, warm colors. Good variety of matte, metallic, and satin shades. Super affordable. What else could you ask for? However, this is my first Morphe eyeshadow palette, so while I was initially drawn to the colors, I was not sure what the quality would be like. Luckily, they're great! These eyeshadows are buttery, blend very well, and have gnarly pigmentation. In my opinion, they're comparable to Urban Decay shadows. The palette regularly retails for $22.99 and is definitely worth the money. (Tip: Morphe always has a ton of coupon codes, so be on the look out for them. I bought my 35O for $20.00.)

3. LOVE YOURSELF BY JUSTIN BIEBER - And if you think that I'm still holding onto something, you should go and love yourself~*~*~  If you haven't heard this one yet, you probably live under a rock??? (Kidding. But really, I've been hearing this everywhere. And I'm definitely not mad at it.) This is the song I've been belting out in the shower for the past few weeks. Love Yourself comes off of JB's latest album, Purpose. I've never been a Belieber. But I do have to admit that I've been impressed with his latest work. Love Yourself is especially catchy and my personal favorite of the album. Damn it, Bieber. You got me.

4. GQ'S MOST EXPENSIVEST SHIT VIDEO SERIES FT. 2 CHAINZ - I know, I know. It already sounds ridiculous. But trust me. You take 2 Chainz. You record him trying out some ridiculously lavish things. And what do you get? Pure entertainment, my friends.
