It was once an idea that I had stumbled upon while browsing Pinterest. Today, it became a tasty reality. With a little bit of trial and error, Jerik and I have mastered the art of the bacon pancake. (Sidenote: Hooray for finally getting to see Jerik after a month of being apart!!!)

Okay, but really though. I was kind of skeptical that cooking the bacon pancakes in real life would be as straightforward as Pinterest made it seem. Let's face it -- Pinterest always makes things look way easier than they really are. But on the real, these were hella simple to make.

You cook the bacon. Prepare your pancake batter. Pour the batter into a separate frying pan. (Not the pan you cooked the bacon in.) Put a strip of bacon in the middle of the batter. (Or add as much bacon as you'd like. Whatever floats your boat.) Pour a layer of batter over the bacon. Flip pancake. Wait for it to cook all the way through. Repeat until you have the desired number of flapjacks that you wish to consume. Try it. I'm sure Jake the Dog would be proud.

P.S. I'm just going to leave this video right here.

Today, Winnie asked me to cut all of her hair off. (Or four inches of it. Whatever. Close enough.) She picked me up and we ran some miscellaneous errands. (A dentist appointment for me. Some camera stuff for Winnie.) After that, we made our way to her place so I could give her a haircut. She pulled into her driveway, and that was when I saw a refrigerator sitting in front of her neighbor's house. Naturally, I wanted to take a picture with it. (lol)

A few things I learned today:
1. It's way more fun to sit in a chair when it's shaped like a tooth.
2. It's possible to have a dental procedure done without messing up your lipstick.
3. Don't open the mysterious refrigerator sitting out on the street.

Miles, one of my closest friends, decided to leave the much cooler and more comfortable weather of San Francisco to hang out with me in the fiery pits of hell today. Just kidding. (But seriously, it was 90+ degrees in San Jose.) We decided to try to embrace the warm weather and spent a majority of our day outside. Did the heat melt our faces off? You betcha. Was it our brightest idea? Definitely not. But nonetheless, I had a kick ass day with my best budd.

I put this vlog together awhile back, and found myself re-watching it today. While revisiting said vlog, I distinguished a few things that I currently miss like crazy.

1. My boyfriend, Jerik. Homeboy's 3,000 miles away attending summer session classes.
2. My Disneyland Annual Pass. It expired a month ago. Catch ya on the flipside, Mickey. )-:
3. Plaza Inn's fried chicken. When asked to describe it, I often compare it to crack.

I know it sounds super cliché, but I'm usually really big on "capturing the moment." It's something that I've failed to do during these past few months, and quite frankly, I regret it a lot. Recently, I made a promise to myself to stay keen on picking up the camera again.

I think it's pretty gnarly that we can experience any of those captured memories all over again and as many times as we want to by looking back at old pictures and videos. I don't know. I guess that what I'm trying to say is that it made me happy to be able to watch this old vlog and get a tiny taste of the things that I'm missing. Yeah, yeah, yeah... your girl is simpin pretty hard today. But you'd be simpin too if you couldn't have your favorite fried chicken either.

How many times have I told myself that I would attempt this blogging thing? Let's just say... too many to count. But ladies and gentlemen, here I am, finally doing the damn thing. So why am I here and what is this all about? This is a place where you will find a compilation of the happenings of my life, the things I enjoy, a deeper understanding of my mind, a look into my fashion sense, and so forth. To simply put it, it's a creative diary of some sort. My name is Jennie Marie and I'd like to share these things with you. In the wise words of Biggie Smalls, "And if you don't know, now you know." Welcome, readers. Here's to new beginnings.
